Description

On the occasion of Dieter Schnebel’s 70th birthday in March 2000, the works “Zwischenfugen” (ED 8193) and “Toccata mit Fugen” (ED 8630) were published at the same time, but they were composed at intervals of 10 years. These organ works by the well-known old master of Fluxus alongside Mauricio Kagel artificially allow the term “fugue” to oscillate between its baroque formal meaning and everyday linguistic and architectural meaning. Complex spatial sound sequences, which also require secondary instruments in the toccata, make these pieces an adventure for the registrant as well.
