Description
Two movements from the symphonic poem “Psyché” (Ped.) Edited and published by Heinrich Walther
Franck wrote his symphonic poem “Psyché”, which is based on an ancient myth, in the last years of his life. From the five-part work, Walther edited two quiet movements, flooded with melancholy, which give the impression of original Franckian organ music both in terms of their musical texture and the way they are written for the instrument. A significant addition to the French-romantic organ repertoire!
Contents: Le Sommeil de Psyché Psyché et Eros. “Successful adaptation of Franck’s late work: Here a masterpiece has been skilfully made available for the organ. The sophisticated transcription enriches every concert program. The edition has the usual high Butz standard.” [Musica sacra 5/2007] “Performed on the right instrument, these two movements represent very effective concert music. A professional interpretation of valuable music.” [Church music in the diocese of Limburg 2/2007]
