Description
Two organ works (Ped.) (With a first edition!)
Edited by Christoph Albrecht
The profound expert on baroque organ music, Christoph Albrecht, presents two works by Johann Peter Kellner’s pupil Johann Ringk. Contemporaries (Burney, Gerber) praised his improvisational skills, but the works presented here are his first compositions discovered to date. Ringk was organist at Berlin’s Marienkirche from 1755 to 1778; this post was taken up a good 90 years later by Otto Dienel, who is also represented in the Butz program (see under Dienel).
Contents: Prelude and Fugue in C major (first edition) – Chorale prelude “Helft mir, Gott`s Güte preisen”.
