Description

Two Concertos for Organ Solo (Ped.)

Edited by Christian Jonkisch Price:

With this edition we present a composing church music director who, trained in Regensburg and working in Görlitz all his life, was able to write music of unspoiled freshness and vitality. The two three- and four-movement “Concertos” are written in a traditional musical language; there are cheerful, lively moments as well as lyrical, cantabile passages. Played cyclically, the works are suitable for a concert performance, and individual movements can also find their place in church services. “The Concertos are music that is crafted with great craftsmanship and often has a highly musical style. The technically rewarding works are easy to consume and can be used on a variety of occasions.” [Musica Sacra 2/2011] “Jonkisch was a composer who always had an eye on practice, which can be seen in the two concertos in a positive sense. They are written in a moderate, only slightly modern musical language, which is partly based on baroque models. They are appealing and easy to understand and can be used in both concert and liturgical settings. Also suitable for part-time organists.” [Church music in the diocese of Limburg 1/2012]
