Description

Ten Gallantry Pieces (Ped.) 228th Publication of the Society of Organ Friends Edited by Helmut Scheck

Franz Bühler (also Bihler) was one of the most popular church composers during his lifetime, especially in southern Germany. His career took him to Donauwörth, Bozen and Augsburg, where he held the office of cathedral music director until his death. His organ pieces, composed at the beginning of the 19th century, stand out from the narrow repertoire of original organ music from the time of the beginning of secularization due to their organ-like texture and their tonal variety.

Contents: Cantabile C major – Siciliano A minor – Allegretto G major – Larghetto E minor – Allegretto D major – Agitato B minor – Grazioso A major – Scherzo allegro F sharp minor – Adagio E major – Vivace E major.
