Description
Volume VI. Twelve organ pieces (Ped.), edited by Tobias Zuleger
Shortly after the death of the famous Belgian, some of his unpublished organ works appeared in a compendium that, from today’s perspective, is hard to believe was not printed during his lifetime, and even less so that a good 100 years had to pass before it was rediscovered! The cycle “Douze Pièces” can be seen as a charming stylistic precursor to the numerous collections of the same name by many French organ romantics. It contains mainly easy-to-play pieces for use in church services, which are somewhat more extensive than the “Easy Pieces” (BU 1959).
Contents: Allegro ma non troppo (D minor) – Allegro (E minor) – Allegro (D major) – Allegro (C minor) Marche de procession (G major) – Sicilienne (D minor) – Sortie (C major) – Méditation (E major) Pastorale (F major) – Prélude (E flat major) major) – Prélude (F major) – Offertoire pour une messe en l’honneur de la sainte Vierge (A major).
