Symphonie improvisée (Symphonie de Boston, 1956) (Ped.) Reconstructed improvisation (Jeremy Filsell)
The rediscovery of the recording of this improvised symphony from 1956 was already a small sensation. Another lies in the work itself: the Notre Dame organist, just 32 years old, improvised a perfectly formed four-movement symphony on the Aeolian Skinner organ in Symphony Hall in Boston [IV/67], in which all the parameters of his brilliant improvisational art are already evident. A sonic feast for listeners and players!
