Scherzo sur deux Noёls (Ped.) Reconstructed improvisation (Anthony Hammond)
Even more than 30 years after his death, the art of the improviser from Notre-Dame, Paris, exerts an unbroken fascination on the organ world. This is also expressed in constantly new recorded improvisations that keep his music alive beyond the recordings. The latest work of this kind is a scherzo (one of Cochereau’s favorite improvised genres!) on the Christmas carols “Il est né, le divin enfant” and “Adeste Fideles”. A representation of dance-like, humorous Christmas joy par excellence!
