Gabriel Dupont is one of the French Romantics whose work is in urgent need of rediscovery. The student of Vierne, Widor and Massenet was a well-educated musician who composed operas and symphonic works in addition to organ and piano works. His few, very substantial organ works are brought together here for the first time in one edition. In terms of sound and form, they are similar to the works of René Vierne, who was born in the same year, and can be used in church services and concerts.
