Larsen’s flowing meditation on the ‘Veni creator’ tune was written as the Pentecost entry for a multi-composer anthology based on the liturgical year. It was given one of the highest rankings in a survey of pieces that most strongly moved listeners to prayer.

Programme Notes:
In Libby Larsens flowing meditation on the “Veni creator” tune, the Holy Spirit arrives with feather-delicacy in a dotted, downward-moving motive counterbalanced by an uprushing scale pattern and a gently pulsing chordal oscillation based on the opening notes of the tune itself. Written as the Pentecost entry for a multi-composer anthology based on the liturgical year, the piece has been widely played and was given one of the highest rankings in a survey of pieces that most strongly moved listeners to prayer, published in the journal Pastoral Music”.
