Description
Pièce symphonique op. 16 (Ped.) Edited by Hermann J. Busch
This composition by the organist of SteClotilde, which has remained relatively unknown to us to this day, is stylistically still clearly influenced by his teacher César Franck (written in 1899). However, it is by no means a copy of Franck’s “Grande Pièce Symphonique”, but rather an independent sonata movement of more modest scope but great tonal expression. The nine-minute work is an attractive contribution to programs with (late) romantic organ music from France.
