Description

Boellmann Organ Works Volume IV: Arrangements for Organ and Harmonium

Léon Boëllmann (1862–1897) studied at the École Niedermeyer and was Titular organist at Saint-Vincent-de-Paul in Paris.

His compositions follow in the tradition of Saint-Saëns, Franck, Fauré and Gigout, reflecting the elegant and extravagant style of the belle époque.

Volume IV of this practical Urtext edition contains those of Boëllmann’s works that were transcribed for organ and harmonium by his contemporaries, as well as works by composers of the time which were arranged by Boëllmann.  The edition includes a detailed foreword (Fr/Eng/Ger) with advice on performance practice and facsimile pages of the manuscript, as well as a critical commentary (Fr/Eng/Ger).
