Description

Organ works (Ped.) (some first editions!) Edited by Ulrich Rasche

The Dresden organist and composer Camillo Schumann is one of the last German organ romantics. Although he continued composing well into the 20th century, he always remained true to the musical language he had chosen. In addition to his six well-known organ sonatas, he wrote several other major organ works, which are presented here – some in their first edition – in an impressive collection.

Contents: Prelude in march form op. 2 – Postlude “O that I had a thousand tongues” op. 22 2 chorale fantasias op. 8 (“Jesus, my confidence”, “Dearest Jesus”) – Fantasy and fugue on “A mighty fortress is our God” op. 10 – 2 preludes and fugues op. 123 (first edition!) – Concert prelude and fugue on “Now thank we all God” op. 100 (first edition!).
