Description

Organ works – complete edition (Ped.) Edited by Michael Pohl

Voigtmann was organist at St. Jacobi Church in Sangerhausen. Supported by Liszt, he composed four organ works that demonstrate his affinity for the large, multi-part, but through-composed romantic form. Printed during the lifetime of the composer, who died early, and forgotten in the 20th century, they are published here for the first time in a critical new edition. Solid concert literature in the circles of Reubke, Liszt and Ritter.

Contents: Sonata on the chorale “Jesu, meine Freude” – Concert piece in C minor, op. 3 – Concert Fantasy on the chorale “Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern” op. 2 – Fantasy “Now thank all God”.
