Description
Volume 6. Organ Sonatas No. 3 and 4 (op. 18 and op. 32) (Ped.)
The last volume in our series of organ works by the Berlin Romantic composer Otto Dienel contains his last major organ cycles, the two sonatas third and fourth. These are full-blown three-movement works, entirely in the style of the late Mendelssohn succession. A special feature is the fourth sonata, in which the composer bases each movement on a well-known Christmas carol. This volume closes another gap in the organ sonata repertoire of the German Romantic period.
