The focus of this volume is on carefully selected compositions from the “Lyrical Pieces”, including the famous “Wedding Day at Troldhaugen”, but works from other genres have also been included, such as the two “Elegiac Melodies” originally intended for string orchestra. This album also demonstrates the great affinity of many of Grieg’s compositions to the sound of the organ. All nine arrangements testify to the competence of a Grieg expert and organist!
