The friend of the Dortmund Reinoldi organist Gerhard Bunk left behind several important organ works in the late romantic style. The highlight of his organ work is undoubtedly his Improvisation and Fugue on “He on the Cross is my Love” op. 17 No. 2, which has remained in the repertoire of several important organists to this day. Our new edition includes some changes to the original version, which the composer himself communicated to the editor Hans Uwe Hielscher. A veritable concert piece, especially for Passion and memorial concerts and devotions.
