Description

Thierry Pallesco was born in Paris, France, in 1956. He won second prize in piano at the Bach-Albert-Lévêque competition (1976), and first prize for excellence in piano at the L. Bellan competition (1977).

In 1977, after completing his piano studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Versailles, he studied organ with André Isoir at the Ecole Nationale de Musique d’Orsay, winning first prize there in 1980. He continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he was awarded first prizes in harmony (1980, in the class of Roger Boutry), counterpoint (1981, in the class of Jean-Paul Holstein), fugue (1982, in the class of Michel Merlet), and second prize in organ (1983, in the class of Rolande Falcinelli). In 1984, he was a finalist in the composition competition of the Amis de l’Orgue.

He was Professor of Harmony at the University of Poitiers, France (1996-2018), and organist of the Cathédrale St-Spire, Corbeil-Essonnes, Paris (1984-89).

Thierry Pallesco’s organ works have been performed in the USA, Canada, England, Scotland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Russia and France.

His works have been published in France, England and Germany.
