Romantic organ arrangements to the melody of the German national anthem (man and ped)
Edited by Klemens Schnorr
This edition draws attention to a highly interesting niche of the repertoire for German reunification. For before Joseph Haydn’s noble melody in conjunction with the text by Hoffmann von Fallersleben became the national anthem of the (united) Federal Republic of Germany through all the adversities of the course of time, it was the anthem of the Austrian Empire for over 120 years. This volume brings together a representative selection of romantic, sonorous organ arrangements of this melody created in this context, which are ideally suited to give festive state occasions and every national holiday an appropriate tonal note. Apart from Dité’s “Introduction, Passacaglia and Fugue”, all works are of easy to medium difficulty.
Works by: Sechter, Gruber, Führer, Halbmayr, Dollhopf, Dittrich and Dité.
