Description
“A little man stands in the forest”. Humorous variations for organ (Ped.) Recorded and edited by Ralf Bölting. Lehrndorfer, Franz (1928–2013)
The former Munich cathedral organist Franz Lehrndorfer, who died in January 2013, was rightly praised for his magnificent, profound and playful improvisational skills. A 1968 recording of humorous improvisations on well-known children’s songs quickly achieved cult status, and not just in organist circles. Ralf Bölting has now produced a recording of the variations on “A little man stands in the forest”, which enables all organists to follow in Lehrndorfer’s footsteps and play this “mischievous partita” themselves. Not only does it add a veritable highlight to the repertoire of cheerful organ music, it will also be a lot of fun for you and your listeners!
