Description
These volumes contain chorale settings by Heinrich Scheidemann (c. 1595-1663). Scheidemann studied with Sweelinck in Amsterdam 1611-1614 and worked as organist at the church of St Katherine in Hamburg for a good three and a half decades from 1629. The new edition contains two additional new works, the chorale fantasias ‘Allein zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ’ and ‘Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott’. They were initially ascribed to Franz Tunder, but, based on the most recent style-critical research, have to be ascribed to Heinrich Scheidemann.
