Description
Volume 1 (Man. and Ped.) (First edition!) Edited by Britta Freund
A total of 61 chorale preludes by Camillo Schumann from the last creative phase of the popular Saxon composer are waiting to be discovered. We are publishing the first edition of the first volume of the chorale prelude edition, which is divided into three volumes. Towards the end of his life, Schumann worked as an organist in several churches. Coming from this period, this is confidently composed practical literature, whose late-romantic sound does not reveal any of the confusion of the times: Even in his late work, Schumann’s expressive, harmonious style remains the defining feature of these practical works. Their moderate length and easy to medium level of difficulty make them a treasure trove for every organist even today.
