Description
Six Pièces (Duos) (Ped.) Edited and published by Otto Depenheuer
The combination of piano and harmonium was very popular in the 19th century, particularly in France, as this type of chamber music could be played both in church and at home. Among the most impressive creations of this type are Widor’s “Six Duos”, which he and many others later transcribed several times for other instruments in order to be able to present their beauty in as many different ways as possible. Otto Depenheuer has succeeded in creating a version for solo organ, the structure of which largely takes into account the characteristics of the original instruments and yet results in an exemplary organ setting that does credit to the “father of the organ symphony”!
