Romantic organ transcriptions Edited and published by Erwin Horn BU 2140 Volume 1 (Ped.)
Erwin Horn is not only a great connoisseur of orchestral music (especially symphonic music) of the 19th century, but he also knows how to transfer instrumental movements in their entirety or in excerpts to “his” instrument, the organ. For a first volume of transcriptions, works were selected that explore the entire spectrum of romantic musical moods: from highly expressive funeral music (composed for the death of Anton Bruckner) to majestic sounds of jubilation.
Contents: A. Bruckner: Scherzo from the string quartet – G. Mahler: 6th movement from the 3rd Symphony (excerpts). “What love tells me” – G. Mahler: Andante. 3rd movement from the 6th Symphony (excerpts) – A. Scriabin: “Jubilant Hymn” from the finale of the 2nd Symphony – O. Kitzler: Funeral Music. In memory of Anton Bruckner – A. Bruckner: Festive Andante. No. 3 from “Three Orchestral Pieces”.
