Description
Mendlessohn New Edition of the Complete Organ Works II
Six Sonatas Op.65
We are currently experiencing a renaissance of Romantic organ music. Attention was drawn to the numerous works of Felix Mendelssohn that were still unpublished and it is hoped that this edition will go some way to redress this situation and that his organ compositions previously unknown, will certainly soon assume a place of honour in the affections of organists and lovers of organ music.
This critical edition contains organ compositions formerly believed to be lost and printed here for the first time. Mendelssohn’s organ compositions, which are of moderate difficulty, combine the Baroque model he aspired to with Classical-Romantic lyricism and expressiveness.
