Description
Volume 2 (Ped.) 204. Publication of the Society of Organ Friends
Wagner himself gave the organ a small role in “church” scenes of his operas three times. It is far more appealing to transfer larger parts from his stage works (not just the “Bridal Chorus”) to the organ. When this is done masterfully by Erwin Horn – as in this case – completely new sound worlds and experiences are opened up.
Contents: Transcriptions from the operas “Die Meistersinger”, “Tristan und Isolde” and “Parsifal”. “‘Wagner on the organ – what an experience!’ is what many people will think, and they are right. After all, it is the organ that is able to capture the festive sound of Wagner’s works in a lasting way.” [Music in the Diocese of Essen 1/2005]
