Volume 1. Transcriptions from the sacred vocal works (Ped.) Edited and published by Otto Depenheuer
It has often been regretted that the composer of such beautiful church music works as the Requiem and numerous motets and sacred songs did not compose any original organ music. Many of his works, especially those of a meditative nature, are begging for interpretation on the organ. Sacred vocal works from his rich oeuvre have been transcribed for the organ for the first volume of our transcription series. And look: it sounds like organ music from Fauré’s pen!
Contents: Pie Jesu (Requiem) – Sanctus (Requiem) – In Paradisum (Requiem) – Cantique de Jean Racine – Maria, Mater gratiae – Ave Maria – Tu es Petrus – Tantum ergo – Ave verum – O salutaris – Messe basse.
