Description
Seven recorded improvisations (Ped.) (First edition!) Edited by Hans Steinhaus, Felix Gubser and Alex Hug (in conjunction with the Dupré Society, Paris)
Butz-Verlag has succeeded in making another small discovery sensation in the field of Marcel Dupré: seven improvisations in the romantic style played and recorded in Zurich in the 1930s, set to music by his students and sanctioned by Dupré personally. All seven works, including dreamy variations on “The Moon Has Risen”, have been rescued from their deep sleep; they once again bear witness to the so-called “ready-for-print” improvisational art of the master of Saint-Sulpice. Level of difficulty: easy to medium.
Contents: Variations on “The moon has risen” – Ad nos, ad salutarem undam (after Liszt) Variations sur un thème de Haydn (after Brahms op. 56b) – Return again, return again Chorale arrangements on “To you, to you, Jehovah, I will sing”, “He who lets only the good Lord rule” and “You servants of the Lord, make known the Master!”
