Description

Volume 1 (Ped.)

The life circumstances of the Berlin composer and organist Ludwig Thiele are comparable to those of Julius Reubke: Both were highly gifted, died young and left behind only a few works, albeit of high quality. Thiele is one of the very first (early) romantic German composers to write works of great scope in absolutely organ-like diction. It is therefore all the more surprising that his compositions are rarely present in today’s concert life and are rarely available in modern editions. This changes with the present anthology, which brings together four of his major works in a critical edition and thus closes a significant gap in the repertoire of German organ music of the 19th century.

Contents: Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in A minor – Fuga a 4 voci – Concert movement – Theme with Variations in A flat major.
