Description

Easy organ works with the “Guide to the organ” (Man.) (First edition!)

Edited by Dieter Ueltzen

Sample page Sperger is still known today, especially among double bass players, for his brilliant solo concerts. It is known that Albrechtsberger’s student was also a Protestant and Catholic organist in Ludwigslust, but not that he wrote mostly shorter works for prospective organ students and for church services, which he compiled into small collections. They all appear here in the first edition. Stylistically, his organ works are on the border between baroque verse literature (the strictness of the church modes is already being abandoned) and the early galant style. Even today they are ideal as music to accompany lessons and church services, and can be played with benefit even on the smallest instruments.

Contents: Guide to the organ – Præambulas in different keys – Preludes before the sermon – Preludes after the sermon – Preludes for the mass – Preludes for large masses with instrumental music.
