Description
Le Tombeau de Couperin, Suite d`Orchestre (Ped.)
Edited and published by Jörg Abbing
“Le Tombeau de Couperin” is one of the most beautiful instrumental cycles by the French “sound magician” Ravel. Originally composed for piano, the composer later orchestrated the cycle. The work contains no allusions to the work of the baroque composer Couperin, but is rather to be understood as a homage to classical French music of the 18th century in general. Ravel masterfully captures its characteristics such as joy of playing and sensuality. Abbing’s transcription can already be performed on a two-manual instrument with swell. Another milestone in our series of organ transcriptions of romantic masterpieces!
