Volume 13: Communions of the French Romantic period (Man. and Ped.) Edited by Andreas Willscher and Hans-Peter Bähr
Publisher No. BU 3000 The distribution of communion is one of the five occasions during the mass when the French organist has the opportunity to demonstrate his talent for improvisation or to perform appropriate literature. As a result, there is a great need and production of appropriate literature in our neighboring country, which – based on the liturgical requirements and the technical skills of the organists – has to take into account different lengths and levels of difficulty. All of these pieces have a meditative character. From the enormous wealth of corresponding works, 26 sonorous works of various lengths (2-5 pages) and easy to medium difficulty levels from the French Romantic period were selected for our new volume of the “Special Genre”; preferably those that are not currently available on the market and thus guarantee the greatest possible expansion of the repertoire. Not only for communion and the Lord’s Supper, but whenever quiet and soothing musical accents are desired, this volume will prove to be a most welcome treasure trove!
