“Nun danket alle Gott”————–Thanksgiving chorale “Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir”– Lent “Es ist das Heil” ——————- General Robert Lind has set three German chorales not often chosen by contemporary composers. In keeping with his style, the variations are mainly contrapuntal, with occasional use of toccata figurations contrasting with the unadorned chorale melody. Lind achieves considerable color variation through a wide range of solo stops and a rich ensemble sound.
