Description
This large new work, composed by Samuel Adler, exploits both the lyrical and rhythmic qualities of the organ. Written for organ duet (two players at one console), this allows for a large, fascinating variety of textures and timbres. A meditative “supplication,” with much imitation and flowing eighth notes is followed by a jazzy, multi-metered “celebration.” Seemingly endless variations of rhythm create tremendous excitement and a piece that will be loved by performers and audiences alike.
