Description
In the great English march tradition, Leslie Betteridge has written this stirring “Procession”. The martial opening theme, on a solo trumpet, gives way to a rich and lyrical middle section featuring the warm foundation tones of the organ. The piece concludes with a return to the opening material for the full organ. Even though he was influenced by Elgar and Walton, Mr. Betteridge maintains his own attractive harmonic style throughout. This would make an excellent piece not only for a solemn occasion but also for a festive service.
