Leslie Betteridge’s gift for beautiful melodic lines is amply shown in “Meditation”. Its lovely lyricism, rich harmony, and use of the flutes and strings of the organ create a work well suited for Communion or as a quiet recital interlude. “Meditation” is also excellent as a teaching piece, as it makes demands on the ability to play a smooth legato.
