Description
Vivaldi’s “The four seasons” is probably one of the best-known works of the Baroque period and contains some of the most frequently performed classical pieces of all time. Accompanied by a series of sonnets (possibly by Vivaldi) describing the events that the music evokes, this work is one of the earliest examples of “programme music”. In this edition, concert organist Kiyo Watanabe has transcribed all four concertos for solo organ with suggested registrations for a rich and colourful presentation – all in clear and modern notation. An organ with three manuals and pedal is recommended.
