Description
Edited and edited by Edward Tambling
The peaceful, idyllic pastorals by Manfredini, Corelli, Bach and Handel are part of the standard Christmas repertoire of every orchestra and are almost always missing from every CD collection for the holiday. This anthology brings together the best-known and most popular Christmas orchestral works of the German and Italian Baroque in easy to moderately difficult organ transcriptions, making them finally accessible to organists. The works, which can already be played on a two-manual organ, are suitable for practically any occasion during the Christmas season, whether church service, devotion, evening music or concert. A welcome extension to the repertoire and an enthusiastic audience – not only because of the high degree of recognition of the pieces – can be guaranteed for the player of these works.
